Born to a Ukrainian/Russian family of artists and musicians in middle Russia, artist Mikhail Pertsev graduated from the Stroganov Moscow State University of Applied Arts in 2006, moving to Vancouver shortly thereafter. Having sculpted for theatrical productions, TV, commercials, jewellers and even a chocolate factory, his focus remains on decorative and applied arts, now largely revolving around private commissions and teaching.
