Lars Baggenstos

Ymir, BC

In the early hours on the periphery of my mind ideas uncurl like serpents. Thought fragments melt together to shape artefacts that will never be. This sculpture casts these early morning dreams into reality.

Bio

Born in Germany and raised in Switzerland, Lars Baggenstos studied at the Woodcarving School of Brienz and the Zurich University of Fine Arts. His love for the great outdoors brought him to BC in 2015, where he currently lives in Ymir with his Canadian wife and dog. When Lars is not at his drawing table, he is swinging a mallet, paddling turbulent whitewater or tracking down animals in the backcountry. His pieces revolve around the questions he has about human and wildlife coexistence and the friction it causes.
