Reference to the symbiotic relationship between the built urban fabric with the sinuous organic forms of the natural environment

Illarion Gallant practices as a Public Artist and Registered Landscape Architect in the design/build firm Rusnak Gallant Ltd, located in Victoria, BC.
Illarion graduated from Emily Carr Institute of Art and Design (1988), studied stone sculpture in West Germany and participated in the 1985 Lindabrunn Sculpture Symposium, Vienna, Austria.
The predominant narrative of his artwork, which is featured in collections across Canada, builds on historic relationships between urban and natural landscapes.
Sun Screen, a powerful twist of steel and aluminum, references the symbiotic relationship between the built urban fabric, juxtaposed with the sinuous organic forms of the natural environment.
