Zen Wang

Bonnington, BC

GuanYu - Based on a real hero from the Three Kingdoms period in China. GuanYu gives people comfort in times of sorrow; wisdom in times of confusion; courage in times of adversity; strength in times of action.

A fourth-generation sculptor originally from China, Zen uses tools once belonging to his great-grandfather, who built one of the first marble buildings in his hometown by incorporating western technology to work with local materials. He hopes his traditional classic style can preserve what was once lost, and inspire young Canadians of Asian ethnicity to respect their own colourful cultural heritage.
East Meets West is based on a real hero from the Three Kingdoms period in China, GuanYu. He gives people comfort in times of sorrow; wisdom in times of confusion; courage in times of adversity; strength in times of action.
